Objective - The association will be recognized as among the top associations in the country in providing member services. Recreation, property maintenance, security and other services will be continually monitored and revised as required to meet members' expectations. Services for special groups, such as seniors, will be in place. In contributing to a spirit of community, there will be ample places and forums for members to meet and mingle.
Measurable Goal 7 - Deliver recreation, property management, security and other services with excellence to positively impact quality of life for all members. All department heads will establish indicators that affect service performance and assure timely data collection, rapid response to the data with effective strategies, and assure appropriate follow-up. Measurable by completion of the action items listed below.
Action Item 7a - The directors of land and lakes management will achieve National Wildlife Federation certification for the whole of Kiawah Island by December 2008. Measured complete by letter of notification received by NWF to COO by December.
Action Item 7b - The directors of land and lakes management will be recognized by the Community Associations Institute for their efforts in eco-friendly property management by December 2008. Measured complete by publication in the institute's magazine.
Action Item 7c - Director of human resources will improve service delivery to members by increasing compatibility of KICA and TOKI databases for shared work when possible. Goal is to check data sharing once in March 2008. Includes both databases plus other items such as aerial images of the island. Measured complete with report to COO by April 2008.
Action Item 7d - Director of human resources will maintain and safeguard the KICA network and database. Occurs daily. Measured complete with annual internal report to COO in March 2008.
Action Item 7e - Director of security will provide First Aid, CPR and AED certification to employees annually. In addition, the sessions will be offered to members so that they may receive certification. Provided six times in 2008. Measured complete after sixth training session is done and report is provided to COO.
Action Item 7f - Director of lakes management will accurately track the alligator population through annual spotlight surveys and nest monitoring. DLM will locate, record activity and map locations of alligator, eagle, osprey and other wildlife nesting sites. Complete in November 2008 with report to COO.
Action Item 7g - Director of lakes management will complete hydraulic modeling of the lakes system to determine how water from storm events and tidal inflow moves through the system, Measured complete by DLM conducting member seminar on the functioning of the lakes system in November 2008.
Action Item 7h - Director of lakes management will inventory common property lake edges and assess risk to association's infrastructure.
Action Item 7i - Director of security will offer safety walk-throughs for member and regime properties coordinated with St. John's Fire Department and the Charleston County Sheriff's Office. Measured complete upon written invitation notice in Digest and by letter invitation to all regimes offering the service. Director of security notifies COO in writing.
Action Item 7j - Director of recreation will issue Member Photo ID's for members' access to the association facilities. Measured complete by increase in numbers of ID's issued by November 2008. Director of recreation provides report to COO.
Action Item 7k - Director of security to engage in a comprehensive review of gate access and video technology available and formulate recommendations into a 10-year plan. DS will conduct three off-site visits to community associations to determine whether any technology transfer might benefit the organization. Complete with recommendations report to COO in July before budget process begins.
Action Item 7l - Director of member services will research and report on means to streamline decal renewal process for 2009 (prelim ideas provided to Directors in 2008). Complete with recommendations report provide to COO July 2008.
Action Item 7m - Director of land management will investigate alternative vehicles to reduce gasoline usage and increase fuel efficiency. Complete by inclusion of ideas into 2009 budget.
Action Item 7n - The COO and staff department heads will provide outreach to various off-island and on-island governmental agencies and entities for the benefit of the association. Examples of improvements to be sought are: increased interaction for quicker approvals on new construction from county and interactive input regarding island safety. Measured complete with information about interactions provided in Friday reports to the board of directors.
Action Item 7o - Director of recreation will research and make recommendations on Sandcastle organization including Sandcastle Grille. Measured complete with internal report to COO by February 2008.
